Simon is a strategic marketing consultant with over 20 years’ experience and expertise in the main marketing, communications, branding, sponsorship and research disciplines, across most market and customer segments. He also has extensive leadership, people and organisational change management experience. Prior to deciding to set up on his own as a marketing consultant, in pursuit of that much-vaunted but elusive work-life balance, Simon worked for BT for 16 years in a variety marketing and communications senior management positions, latterly as Director, Group Brand and Sponsorship for 5 years. During that time he led the successful re-branding of BT to its current corporate identity; led the creation of the O2 brand for the de-merger of the BT Cellnet business and the BT Openreach brand for the wholesale provision business; managed numerous advertising and CSR communications campaigns; and overall was responsible for group brand, corporate advertising and sponsorship strategy. At BT he worked closely for many years with Sponsorfinder Director Paul Leonard on every major sponsorship initiative and programme BT undertook during that period – and will happily vouch for the all the awards that Paul won in that time! Life before BT was 4 years in PR in a small specialist hi-tech agency and a financial services publishing company. |
